THE CAAM PRESENTS THE EXHIBITION MANUEL DE LA PEÑA. STRUCTURALISM AND EXPERIMENTATION IN THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE 60s.

The CAAM intendes to continue with the projects which show the importance of modernity in the culture of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria during the 20^th century and especially from the field of affection in architecture. This is the main reason why it considers a necessity to appraise those proposals which, from 1955 onwards, implant the regeneration of the dominant styles from the previous decade, coinciding with the mobilization of a new generation of architects who actively created, all around the country, different links with the international currents from the second modernity. The work by the architect Manuel de la Peña (Madrid ,1922), although transecended through all the country with his first projects, published in the most important architecture magazines, became completely unknown after several years due to the remoteness.
