Catalogue of the 'The Time of Africa', a retrospective exhibition of contemporary African art from the perspective of the continent itself, seen through the eyes of Simon Njami, its curator, of Cameroon origin. African art is thus released from the previously prevailing outsider viewpoint. The catalogue includes texts by Njami and Bennetta Jules-Rosette, professor at the University of California, San Diego.
